Motorola XOOM WiFi Android 4.0.3 OTA now available in Canada

Although Motorola Xoom WiFi owners in the US have had Android 4.0.4 for quite some time now, Android 4.0.3 is only just now pushing out to folks in Canada. As noted in the Android Central Forums, the update went live earlier today for the masses. Checking with Motorola also shows that to be the case, as they've highlighted the update via their website.
- Updated Browser with faster rendering, zoom and pan Users can also now save pages for offline reading and request desktop versions of websites.
- Swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks, and browser tabs You can now dismiss individual notifications, apps from the Recent Apps list, and browser tabs with a simple swipe of a finger.
- Redesigned app launcher In All Apps launcher, you can now simply drag an app to get information about it, immediately uninstall it, or disable a pre-installed app.
- New System Font for Improved Readability An entirely new typeface (called Roboto) optimized for high resolution screens improves readability and brings a polished feel to the user interface.
- Updated "People" Application Replaces contacts and integrates seamlessly with Google+ and other social networks.
- Improved text input and spell-checking The keyboard now features improved accuracy to make text input faster. It also now includes an in-line spell checker to make corrections easier.
- Type with your voice Now you can simply touch the microphone on the keyboard and start talking to write emails, SMS, or any other text-more than 20 languages supported. Text appears in real time, so there's no waiting for server processing.
- Richer and versatile imaging capabilities For capturing larger scenes, the camera introduces a single motion panorama mode. Also, you can now take still shots while shooting video just by tapping the screen as video continues to record. You can also launch camera directly from the Lockscreen. When you shoot videos, you can now choose from a number of silly faces and other fun effects which recognize individual facial features so you can give your friends big eyes, squeeze heads, make noses bigger, or change the scenery with background replacement.
- Redesigned Gallery app with photo editor To help pictures look their best, the Gallery now offers a powerful photo editor so you can crop and rotate pictures, set levels, remove red eyes, add effects, and much more.
- Richer, resizable widgets You can expand widgets to show more content, or shrink them to save space.
If you're rooted, you may need to return back to stock in order to apply the update but no matter — you can root your Motorola Xoom once again after the update is applied. With the update having been tested aplenty on the US version already, you shouldn't run into any issues with it. If so, head on into the Android Central Forums to get yourself some help.

Cameron Diaz, Chace Crawford Know ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’
Stars share the strangest pregnancy facts they learned during filming.

As if the film’s title weren’t explanation enough, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is all about what couples experience during pregnancy, based on the best-selling nonfiction book of the same name.
Because the subject is a complex, loaded and almost universal one, when MTV News sat down with the castmembers from the film, we asked them to enlighten us with the most unique facts they learned about pregnancy during production.
“I think the weirdest thing I’ve seen — I’ve actually seen it — is a woman getting on her hands and knees giving birth,” Matthew Morrison said. “It’s interesting, because you think about a woman [lying on her back] and pushing, but honestly, if you let gravity do the work, it makes it a little easier.”
“The squat position, there is a purpose for it — not just to lift the butt and tone the quads,” added Diaz, who plays Morrison’s girlfriend and baby mama in the movie. “But to open the hips and pelvis and let gravity do the work. The only reason a woman is on her back in our culture is so the doctor can see what’s going on. I say get a platform, squat over it, let the doctor be underneath it.”
“If you want the baby to come right now, eat spicy food,” Ben Falcone (“Bridesmaids”) said of one tip he’d heard mentioned that might speed up delivery.
“Have sex,” said his onscreen wife, Elizabeth Banks.
“Sprint,” Falcone joked. “Sprint uphill.”
“A lot of running is encouraged,” Banks continued with a smile. “Slam doors. Get surprised. Surprise her, scare her.”
Chace Crawford and Anna Kendrick provided the most to-the-point advice, but because their characters have to deal with an unplanned pregnancy, their words of wisdom were how not to get pregnant in the first place.
“Wrap it up. That’s what we learned on this shoot,” Crawford said of practicing safe sex with the use of condoms. “Right?” he asked Kendrick, who collapsed into a brief fit of giggles. “Never mind.”
“Sorry. You completely lost me,” Kendrick laughed, before regaining composure. “Yeah, wrap it up to avoid pregnancy. And stay away from Chace Crawford; he’s irresistible.”
Check out everything we’ve got on “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

Justin Bieber: ‘I Can’t Not Dance Battle Usher’
Bieber’s mentor and dance-off foe will debut his new track ‘Twisted’ on ‘MTV First: Usher,’ airing tonight at 7:54 p.m. on MTV.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway
<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> and his mentor, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, believe it or not, have engaged in a dance-off or two. While Bieber is certainly known for his ability to cut a rug, he noted that his pal has the smoother of the dance moves.</P><P>"Dance-offs? We had one the other night. He did this little show in New York," Bieber explained to MTV News earlier this month about facing off against Usher during his stint in the off-Broadway <a href="/news/articles/1685172/usher-fuerza-bruta-rehearsal.jhtml">"Fuerza Bruta" in April</a>. "Mid-show, he comes in the middle of the dance floor and does a dance battle with me. And I'm like 'I'm too tired for this.' He pulls out moves and I can't <i>not</i> dance battle Usher.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Usher Continues To Mentor Justin Bieber" id="vid:765694.id:1684329" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"So I go in there, do my whole thing," he recalled. "I'm pretty sure I lost, but it's all good."</P><P>When they aren't battling it out on the dance floor, it seems Usher is offering up some sage advice to the 18-year-old singer. "He's just given me the advice of 'Always keep the people that were there in the beginning, keep them with you because those are the people that really care. They want to see you succeed,' " he said. "I think that's probably pretty much the main thing he's always told me."</P><P>Usher has even more to share about working with his superstar mentee. He will open up during <a href="/news/articles/1685095/usher-twisted-climax-scream-mtv-premiere.jhtml">"MTV First: Usher,"</a> set to take place tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV. He will introduce exclusive footage from "Fuerza Bruta" and his new single, the Pharrell-produced "Twisted," and will stick around for an interview with MTV News' Sway Calloway to discuss it all, including his new June release, <a href="/news/articles/1685178/usher-looking-4-myself.jhtml"><i>Looking 4 Myself</i></a>, on MTV.com afterward. Fans can submit questions via MTV.com or Twitter @MTVNews with the hashtag #MTVFirst or #AskUsher.</P><P><b>Don't miss "MTV First: Usher" tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV, followed by an interview with the singer on MTV.com!</b></p>

Britney Spears Calls ‘X Factor’ A ‘Beautiful Concept’
Spears says she wants to ‘inspire’ contestants on the Fox show.
By Jocelyn Vena
<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> seems poised and ready to sit beside her fellow "X Factor" judges on the <a href="/news/articles/1685066/britney-spears-demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml">revamped second season of the show</a>. At the Fox upfront this week, the singer appeared alongside fellow newbie <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lovato__demi/artist.jhtml">Demi Lovato</a>, as well as returning judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, and gushed about the Fox reality show.</P><P>"Just really being able to be there and inspire the other contestants … they're so young and they're trying to fulfill their dreams," she said at the event. "It's just a whole beautiful concept. It's just really cool."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Explains Why She Wanted To Be A Part Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:769620" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>While her negotiations with the show had been making headlines in the weeks leading up to the official announcement, Cowell brushed off all the hoopla, which includes a rumored $15 million payday for joining the show. "A force of nature, I was somewhere in the middle, but I'm thrilled. I love these guys," he said of getting everyone, including Spears, on board. "I charmed her."</P><P>Spears seemed equally taken with the prickly Brit. "He's adorable. He's completely adorable. He didn't have to try hard," she admitted.</P><P>Spears' addition to the show is hardly the only casting making news: <a href="/news/articles/1685141/demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml">Lovato also opened up about having the "X Factor."</a> While little is known about the final hours going into locking Lovato in for the show, she's rumored to be taking in $1 million, according to <a href="http://www.gossipcop.com/demi-lovato-1-million-dollars-x-factor-salary-paycheck-britney-spears-deal/" target="_blank">Gossip Cop</a>.
Lovato was on a short list of possible contenders to appear on the show that also reportedly included Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne. "I'm so excited to be here," she said. "I guess you called," she added with Simon by her side. "And that's how it got set up, just a phone call."
In addition to getting warm and fuzzy about each other in the interview, Cowell shared that the judges will be filming in the next couple weeks when they hit up Austin, Texas, to begin scoping out talent. And if you think the claws might come out then, Reid assured viewers that that won't be the case. "Oh no, we're gonna be really sweet to each other," he said. "Nothing controversial. It'll be perfect."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Simon Cowell Is 'Thrilled' To Introduce The New 'X Factor' Judges" id="vid:769268" width="415" height="255"></div><p></p>
